Landscape Lighting

Lighting Upgrades & RGBW Options

Modernize legacy low-voltage lighting with LED retrofits, wiring/voltage discipline, and smart control. When color is requested, we design it to look premium—not “cheap.”

Reliability first (splices + taps) Better brightness consistency Smart control when reachable Scoped on-site

Reliability

Fewer intermittent failures

Most upgrade ROI comes from fixing corrosion and voltage drop—not just swapping bulbs.

Performance

Cohesive look at night

We match beam control and color temperature so the yard looks intentional, not patchy.

Control

Predictable schedules

App-based control reduces timer drift and makes “on/off” and scenes easier to manage.

How it works

  • 1

    Assess the system

We check transformer capacity/taps, splice condition, wiring layout, and fixture health.

  • 2

    Prioritize reliability

We fix the issues that cause repeat failures: moisture intrusion, drop, and damaged cable.

  • 3

    Upgrade LED + control

We retrofit bulbs, improve taps, and add smart scheduling where reachability supports it.

  • 4

    Aim & tune

We tune at night: adjust aim, eliminate glare, and verify brightness consistency.

Modernization options

  • LED retrofit: improved efficiency and longer life when taps and splices are correct.
  • Transformer upgrade: capacity headroom + multi-tap capability for consistent brightness.
  • Layout refinement: better beam angles, glare control, and focal highlights.
  • Wiring cleanup: rebuild splices, reduce failure points, and balance runs.
  • Smart control: upgrade schedules and control without timer drift.
Service-first upgrades: LED looks best when wiring and voltage are disciplined (balanced runs, correct gauge, and clean waterproof splices).

Smart control (transformer schedules)

For many systems, the quickest quality-of-life upgrade is transformer-side control: replace a drifting mechanical timer or failing photocell with app-based scheduling and reliable on/off control.

  • Brilliance Wi-Fi Smart Socket 3.0: plug-in transformer control (best when Wi-Fi is strong at the transformer). See Smart Socket 3.0.
  • Smart Link foundation: for select HOA/commercial sites where customer Wi-Fi isn’t available, Smart Link provides dedicated connectivity for connected lighting control. See Smart Link.

Smart control works best after voltage drop and splice integrity are addressed.

RGBW done right

When clients want color, the key is restraint: warm-white is the default scene, with color saved for holidays and events. We set up scenes and schedules so it’s simple to use and still looks premium.

  • Design first: color scenes land better when the base lighting is already well-aimed and balanced.
  • Connectivity check: connected bulbs need a reliable comms link at the transformer location.
  • Scope gates: we confirm fixture compatibility and the cleanest control path before quoting.
Our preferred approach: durable fixtures + disciplined wiring, then LED and control upgrades matched to the site.

FAQs

Do upgrades always mean replacing fixtures?

No. Many systems can be modernized with splice rebuilds, tap balancing, and LED retrofits while keeping durable fixture bodies.

Will smart control work at my transformer?

Only if the transformer location stays reachable. If Wi-Fi is weak, we recommend a connectivity foundation (Smart Link) for select deployments.

What’s the best first upgrade?

Reliability: fix corrosion and voltage drop. After that, LED and control upgrades perform predictably and look cohesive.
